It sure has been awhile since the legendary Sting has been in Halifax. In 1986 Sting and his wife Trudi Stylehad were on their way home for Christmas on a flight from New York to London when the pilot had to make an emergency landing when Trudi took sick.
Fast forward almost thirty-six years later, Sting finally made his return, this time under much better circumstances. After opening with the Police classic “Message in a Bottle”, Sting took a minute and thanked the local doctors and nurses of Halifax for helping save his wife’s life.
Sporting a bright orange t-shirt and black jeans the 70-year-old then took the capacity crowd on musical journey. For nearly two hours the 17-time grammy award winner weaved through his set-list that was composed of hit after hit, making the night one big sing-along for the fans.
This show will go down has a Halifax classic. Scotiabank Centre concert goers expressed their satisfaction online during and after the show confirming that Sting is truly a musical icon, a legend that shouldn’t be missed in this lifetime.
